No-login QR codes let donors complete a credit card gift by scanning a poster or flyer, without logging in to your program site or installing an app. You can share published giving opportunities and nonprofit profiles with deskless employees, event attendees, and guests while still applying company matching when donors identify with their employee account identifier.
Permissions
Anyone who can view a published giving opportunity can open Share and generate a no-login QR code for that opportunity. Only the user who generated the code, or a user with the Campaign Manager user role, can revoke it.
Anyone with the Campaign Manager user role can open Share, generate a no-login QR code, or revoke a code for a nonprofit profile or nonprofit project.
Verifying your primary account identifier
Before you promote no-login QR codes to employees, confirm which account identifier they should enter at checkout. That value must match the Primary Field in your user import configuration (for example, username, employee ID, or email).
- Select Manage > People > User Import.
- Select the Configure tab.
- Find the Primary Field label in Field Mapping, then communicate that label in your campaign materials.
Generating no-login QR codes
Use the Share by QR code option on a published giving opportunity or on a nonprofit profile (when you have Campaign Manager access for nonprofits).
- Open the published giving opportunity or nonprofit you want to promote.
- Select Share > Share by QR code.
- Choose how you want people to donate:
- Select Colleagues to let donors enter their account identifier for eligible company matching, or continue as a guest without matching.
- Select Friends and family for guest-only checkout with no account identifier prompt. Guest donations are not eligible for company matching.
- Select Generate.
- Select PNG or SVG to download the file for email, digital signage, or print.
For Colleagues codes, matching applies when the donor enters a valid account identifier and meets program rules. For security, the name on the credit card must match the name on the Benevity account tied to that identifier.
No-login checkout supports credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payroll deduction and Rewards redemption require a logged-in session and are not available in this flow.
Each giving opportunity or nonprofit supports at most one active code per share type (Colleagues versus Friends and family). Opening Share by QR code again shows the existing code, its creation date, and download options instead of creating a duplicate. QR codes downloaded before your program uses the no-login flow continue to send donors to the standard login experience. Generate and print a new code from Share by QR code when you want the no-login path on posters and flyers. You can also share an opportunity, nonprofit or news article with a copy link when you do not need a QR code.
Revoking an active QR code
Revoking disables scanning immediately. Use this when campaign materials are lost, an event ends, or you need to replace a code.
- Open the same giving opportunity or nonprofit and select Share > Share by QR code.
- Select Revoke in the modal.
After you revoke a code, the modal returns to Generate so you can create a replacement when needed.
