Reviewing CRA volunteer time submissions

When an employee submits volunteer time, users with the Community Reinvestment Act Reviewer role can review the associated CRA data directly within the submission view. The Community Impact Review tab gives CRA Reviewers visibility into CRA eligibility data, supporting audit readiness and enabling informed decisions about Dollars for Doers reward programs.

Permissions

Anyone with the Community Reinvestment Act Reviewer user role can access the Community Impact Review tab to view and edit CRA details, add reviewer actions, and confirm or decline CRA status.

Accessing CRA details

The volunteer time submission view opens with two tabs: Service Details and Community Impact Review.

The Community Impact Review tab is visible to anyone with the Community Reinvestment Act Reviewer role. It appears on all volunteer time submissions, regardless of whether CRA is currently enabled for your company or whether the submission includes CRA answers. If no CRA data is present, the tab displays blank. This includes submissions linked to volunteer opportunities that were created before CRA was enabled for your company.

This means CRA Reviewers can still access the tab to review historical CRA data on older submissions, even if CRA has since been turned off for your company.

To access CRA details on a submission:

  1. Select Manage, then hover over Volunteer and select Approve Volunteer Time.
  2. Select Details next to the submission you want to review.
  3. Select the Community Impact Review tab to review the CRA questions and the volunteer's answers.

Note: CRA questions are configured per company. The questions you see will vary depending on your program setup.

Editing CRA answers

Users with the Community Reinvestment Act Reviewer role can update CRA answers on a submission if corrections are needed.

To edit CRA answers:

  1. Select the Community Impact Review tab on the submission.
  2. Select Edit next to the CRA details section. This section is labelled Submission-level details for external time submissions, or Event-level submission for opportunity-based submissions.
  3. Update the answers as needed.
  4. Review the warning if it appears, then select Save.

Note: For opportunity-based submissions, CRA answers are linked to the volunteer opportunity rather than the individual submission. Editing the answers updates all time submissions associated with that opportunity, including adding CRA data to submissions that previously had none. A warning appears before you save, so you can review the impact before confirming.

Completing reviewer actions

After reviewing the CRA answers, CRA Reviewers complete the Reviewer Actions fields to record the outcome of the review. All completed fields are saved for audit purposes and sent to reporting.

The reviewer action fields are:

  • Review Status: Select Confirmed to mark the submission as CRA-eligible, or Declined to mark it as ineligible
  • Submission Category: The category that best describes the CRA activity, for example Economic Development
  • Number of CRA eligible hours: The hours and minutes that qualify for CRA credit
  • CRA Qualification Statement (optional): The basis for the CRA eligibility decision
  • Reviewer Comments (optional): Internal comments for audit purposes
