Linking challenge completion to nonprofit donations

You can add a donation prompt to the confirmation screen that appears when an employee completes a challenge. This lets you extend the impact of personal actions by linking them directly to nonprofit support, all within the same experience.

Permissions

Anyone with the challenges admin user role can link challenge completion to nonprofit donations.

Enabling a giving opportunity

You can enable this feature on a per-challenge basis. Once enabled, employees who complete the challenge see a prompt to donate to a cause that aligns with the challenge’s theme.

  1. Go to the Manage section of the platform and select Content > Manage Challenges.
  2. Find the challenge you want to add a giving opportunity to, then select Customize from the three dot menu.
  3. Navigate to the Inspire action with a giving opportunity section and select the Show Giving opportunity checkbox.

  4. Use the search field to find and select a specific Giving Opportunity by name or ID.
  5. Select Save. This takes you to a screen where you can review your edits. Select Save again to publish your edits.

After the challenge is published and subsequently completed by a user, the Donate button appears on the completion screen.

When selected, it directs the user to the donation page for the linked giving opportunity. To improve relevance and engagement, consider linking challenges to giving opportunities that are thematically related. For example, you can pair a sustainability challenge with an environmental nonprofit.

Top tip: If you want the challenge to appear at the top of the catalog, consider featuring it as a Company Pick.

Reviewing feature limitations

Be aware of the following limitations when linking Giving Opportunities to challenges:

  • You can link only one Giving Opportunity per challenge.
  • If the selected Giving Opportunity expires or the ID is invalid, the donation prompt is automatically hidden from the user view.
