The Donation date range setting applies to all match requests that are submitted using the External Match Request form. If a user’s donation was made outside of the accepted range, they are unable to submit a request. These controls save your administration team time by automatically preventing requests that would not be approved.
Permissions
Any user with the role manager role can update the approval deadline extension.
Setting a donation date range
To set your donation date range:
- Go to the Manage side of Spark.
- Hover over Match Requests in the navigation bar and select Match Request Settings.
- Choose a Donation date range.
- Select Save.
Donation date ranges
These settings determine when users can submit an external match request. Once a date range is chosen, the calendar on the external match request form will show unaccepted dates in gray and they cannot be selected.
Calendar year-to-date
The donation date must be on or after January 1st of the current year, up to the submission date.
Example:
- Date range: calendar year to date.
- On Feb 1, 2024 users can submit donations made between Jan 1st, 2024 and Feb 1st.
Choose this date range if your annual budget aligns with the calendar year and you do not want users to submit match requests for donations made in a previous year.
Within the last xx months/days
The donation date must be within the specified number of months or days before the submission date.
Example:
- Date range: within the last 60 days.
- On Feb 1st, 2024 users can submit donations made between Dec 3rd, 2023 and Feb 1st, 2024.
Choose this date range if you want users to continuously submit match requests and you are not concerned if the submission date is in a different fiscal or calendar year to the donation date.
Fixed date range
The donation date must be within the specified date range.
Example:
- Date range: April 1, 2023 - March 31, 2024
- On June 1, 2024 users can submit donations made between April 1 and June 1.
Choose this date range if your annual budget aligns with a custom fiscal year and you do not want users to submit match requests for donations made in a previous year. You'll need to update the date range annually when the end date is reached so that users can begin submitting requests for the new year. There are currently no year-end notifications to update these dates so we recommend setting an internal reminder.
