PAC Matching allows you to upload Political Action Committee (PAC) contribution data and generate matching codes for eligible employees, without needing to contact Support for each batch.
Note: PAC Matching must be enabled and configured for your site before you can use this workflow. If you're not sure whether it's enabled, contact Support.
Permissions
Anyone with the PAC Match Manager user role can upload PAC match files, create match codes, and view PAC match reports.
Uploading PAC match files
Use the PAC Matching upload page to import a batch of employee contributions and generate matching codes in one step.
Before you upload, prepare a comma-separated values (CSV) file with a header row in the following order:
employee_id,contribution_amount,match_amount,contribution_date,expiry_date,description
To upload a PAC match file:
- Navigate to Manage > Company Giving > PAC Matching.
- Select Import File in the Upload CSV section of the Create PAC Match Codes tab and choose your CSV file. Only
.csvfiles are accepted. - Enter a Batch Description in the Description section that identifies this upload (for example, "Q2 2026 PAC contributions").
- Select an expiry date for the match codes in the Expiry Date section (optional). If set, the date must be in the future.
- Select Create Codes to validate the file and generate matching codes.
If the upload succeeds, a confirmation message appears. Employees can then access the PAC Match redemption form from their Quick Links menu to direct their matching funds to a program-eligible nonprofit. PAC match funds are disbursed through the employee's local giving foundation and cannot be redirected through global giving channels. If validation fails, an error message describes what to correct (for example, a missing batch description, an expiry date in the past, or a file that is not in CSV format).
Viewing PAC match details
After you create codes, you can review batch results and track whether codes are unused, donated, expired, or cancelled.
To view PAC match details:
- Navigate to Manage > Company Giving > PAC Matching.
- Select the View PAC Match Details tab.
- Set a Creation Date or Redemption Date range to narrow results (optional).
- Select the statuses you want to include under Filter PAC Matches (for example, Unused, Donated, Expired, or Cancelled).
- Select Get Report to refresh the results table.
- Select Export to CSV to download the full report.
The report shows employee details, contribution and match amounts, creation and expiry dates, redemption status, and the nonprofit receiving redeemed funds where applicable.
Troubleshooting common upload issues
If your upload does not complete, check the following:
- File format: Only CSV files are accepted. Other file types (for example,
.xlsxor image files) are rejected. - Header row: The file must include a header row with the required column names. Column order must match the order shown above.
- Batch description: A batch description is required for every upload.
- Expiry date: The expiry date is optional. If you enter one, it must be a future date.
- Site configuration: PAC Matching import settings (including the primary employee identifier field) must be configured before your first upload.
If the upload fails for an unexpected reason, try again. If the problem persists, contact Support.
