Reviewing your program catalog history

The program catalog history provides administrators with a detailed audit log of activity within the volunteering catalog. It helps teams track when and how opportunities are added or archived, and it highlights any catalog content removed by Benevity. This feature supports transparency and gives admins a clearer view into how their volunteering program evolves over time.

Permissions

Anyone with the following roles can view the program catalog history:

  • Volunteer manager
  • Volunteer manager (no reporting)
  • Volunteer manager (junior admin)

Viewing the program catalog history

  1. Select Manage, followed by Volunteer > Volunteering Catalog.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Volunteering Catalog page.
  3. Select Show in the bottom right corner.
  4. Review the program catalog history section to see recent catalog activity, including the date, user, action, and description.

Note: Entries appear in descending chronological order, with the most recent changes shown at the top.

Understanding the types of tracked actions

The log captures a variety of catalog activities, including:

  • Added to Program – When an administrator or partner adds a new opportunity to the program catalog.
  • Archived from Program – When an administrator archives an opportunity. No new shift requests can be submitted, but upcoming shifts remain accessible via direct link, and volunteers can continue to track time. The opportunity is removed from the program catalog.
  • Opportunity Unpublished – When Benevity removes an opportunity from the volunteering catalog.

Each entry includes:

  • Date and time (UTC) – When the change occurred
  • Updated by – Who made the change to the opportunity
  • Action – What type of change was made (for example, added, archived, or unpublished)
  • Description – The name of the opportunity that was changed

This information helps you monitor catalog updates, collaborate across teams, and maintain accurate records of your volunteering efforts.
