Submitting an application form

Application forms allow applicants to provide you with the critical information you need for granting decisions. Our teams partner with you to build an application form that captures the right information for your program.

Below we'll go over some of the main features available to applicants when they fill in your form. Or, if you prefer, you can watch the video to learn the basics.

Starting a new application

The first time a nonprofit enters the application URL you provide them, a new, blank application will be open. To restart with a new application from the form page, select New Application at the top of the page. Each new application creates a unique URL.

Applicants can look through upcoming or previous questions on a form by selecting pages on the progress bar. The form cannot be submitted without completing all mandatory questions.

Saving an application

As applicants work through the form, responses are automatically saved so that the application browser window can be closed at any time.

Note: It is important to save or bookmark the URL to go back to. If an applicant accidentally clears their browsing history, they will lose their application progress. The form alerts the applicant to this situation.

Opening an existing application

To revisit a previously started application form, applicants can select Open an Existing Application at the top of the page. All previously started applications are listed, including the date and status of the application. Choose one to reopen. Alternatively, enter the application URL directly in the browser.

Sharing a blank application

Share a blank application form by selecting Actions > Share a blank application. The application link can be copied to send a new application form to potential applicants, or for them to share with their colleagues.

Collaborating on answers

People at a nonprofit can collaborate with their colleagues on their application responses. To do this, select Actions > Collaborate on your answers. The unique URL for the existing application can be copied and shared with others for collaboration.

Note that anyone with this link can see the application responses, so applicants need to be careful of who they share the link with.

Exporting application questions

Applicants and administrators can open an application form and export questions to a PDF. To do this, select ActionsExport Application Form. By exporting questions, application data can be easily accessed by others who cannot access the online application.

FAQs and technical support

There is a Help option at the bottom of every page which links to a list of common FAQs and additional support.
