As a volunteer opportunity administrator, you can enable waitlists to ensure that shifts are as full as possible and that the maximum number of volunteers have a chance to contribute their time and skills. Here’s how you manage waitlists:
Enable waiting list
In the Shifts tab of the volunteer opportunity creation form, check the box that reads Enable waiting list. Now, when all of the shifts you have created are full, the waitlist will be enabled. If a space in a shift becomes available, all of the people on the waitlist will receive an email notifying them that the space is available. They can then sign up for the shift on a first-come first-served basis.
Disable waiting list
You can disable a waitlist in the same Shifts tab, by unchecking the box that reads Enable waiting list. NOTE: There is no maximum to the number of people that can be added to the waitlist, and the order they are added does not determine their priority on the waiting list. As soon as someone from the list signs up for an available space, they are removed from the waiting list.
