Approve or decline a request

You will decide who can approve or decline a request when you create the roles and permissions for your granting program. Then you can assign specific people to the grant request as a reviewer. For more info on roles, check out the request owner and assignee overview.

If you have emails set to pull request amounts or in-kind items

If you have emails set up to pull request amounts or in-kind items, you must add a payment before you approve a request.

If you don't add the payment, the approval email will populate with $0 or no in-kind items. The payment line will remain editable and stay as unprocessed, as the payment process can’t begin until the request has been approved. 

New! Approve a request directly in the Payments tab

You can now save time by approving a request directly in the Payments tab. When you are trying to change the status of the request, a banner will appear allowing you to click Approve request now and immediately approve it. This quicker method will save you from having to do the steps outlined below. The status will automatically change as well.

Approve or decline a request in the Admin tab

  1. Open the request. 
  2. Go to the Admin tab.
  3. Select the Edit button.

  4. Choose Approved or Declined under Request status. If you decline the request, add the reason why. 
  5. Select Save.

Approve or decline using single decision review 

Another way to approve or decline a request is with single decision review. This is an add-on feature. Please contact your Benevity Client Success Manager for more information.
