Embedded reporting dashboards for giving

To access the embedded admin dashboard, start by selecting Manage to enter Spark as an administrator. The dashboard will load below the navigation bar.

Giving is the default view on the dashboard. From here, you can modify the content by selecting the Filter dropdown menu. The Year is available by calendar year only. The Country dropdown menu indicates each of the instances you have available. All amounts are shown in the local currency of the selected instance (e.g. if you select United States, amounts will be shown in USD).

Donation Participation

Donation participation rate is the number of distinct donors who gave within the time period divided by the number of eligible users.Donation_Participation.png

  • Includes users with approved external match requests and redeemed funds from their Giving Account.
  • Does not include users who have topped up their My Funds or earned My Rewards in their Giving Account; those are counted when the funds or rewards are redeemed.

The large number on the visualization shows the current annual participation rate for the Year and Country selected.

The graph shows the monthly participation rate for the Year and Country selected. This graph can help highlight when users are giving throughout the year, potentially through campaigns or in response to disaster relief.

User Donation Amount and Corporate Match

CorporateMatch.png

The User Donation Amount shows the annual amount users have donated for the Year and Country selected.

  • Includes approved external match requests and funds redeemed from Giving Accounts.
  • Does not include the amount of My Funds top-ups or earned My Rewards in Giving Accounts; those funds are counted when the funds or rewards are redeemed.
  • Corporate Match is the annual match amount for Year and Country selected. This amount relates only to user donations and does not include any other corporate donations.

The graph shows the monthly user donation amount and corporate amount. Because they’re backdated to the date of intent (the day the user submitted the donation), previous months can change on the graph as payroll periods are committed or external match requests are approved.

Donation Method

DonationMethod.jpg

The Donation Method graph shows how users donate month-to-month. You can see what percent of the user donation amount is given in that month by each donation method (e.g. payroll, credit card, PayPal etc.).

  • Does not include any Corporate Donations or Community Impact Portal Donations.

Because donations are backdated to the date of intent, previous months can change on the graph as payroll periods are committed or external match requests are approved.

Donation Recurrence

DonationRecurrence.png

The Donation Recurrence graph shows how users donate month-to-month for one-time vs recurring donations. You can see the percent of total donation amount given in that month by each recurrence. Remember, this is not the number of individual donations, but the amount that was donated.

  • Does not include any Corporate Donations or Community Impact Portal Donations.
  • Because they’re backdated to the date of intent, previous months can change on the graph as payroll periods are committed or external match requests are approved.

Note that “Unspecified” generally refers to external match requests.

Year on Year Trends

Donation Participation

Donation Participation graphs depict donation participation as the number of distinct donors who gave within the time period divided by the number of eligible users.

  • Includes users that have approved external match requests and redeemed My Rewards funds.
  • Does not include users who have only topped up their My Funds accounts or earned My Rewards; those funds are counted when the funds or rewards are redeemed.

Monthly: The Monthly graph shows the monthly donation participation year on year with each color of the bar representing a different year. Since giving is so temporal, it often makes the most sense to compare the same time frames year on year when looking at participation. This monthly view can highlight campaigns or special events that have higher participation rates.

Cumulative: The Cumulative graph shows how the company is progressing towards the annual donation participation rate year on year.  Generally, it only increases as the year progresses, but it can decrease if new users are added to the system at a faster rate than new first-time donations are being made. This graph helps answer the question, “Compared to the same time last year, is our donation participation rate better or worse?”

Corporate Match

These two graphs show user donation amount year on year.

Monthly: The Monthly graph shows the monthly corporate match amount year on year, with each color bar representing a different year. This monthly view can highlight campaigns or special events.

Cumulative: The Cumulative graph shows the corporate match amount donated summed throughout the year, with December being the total amount of corporate matching committed that year. This graph can help indicate when you might be approaching limits on your matching campaign.

User Donation Amount

These two graphs show user donation amount year on year.

  • Includes users with approved external match requests and redeemed My Rewards funds.
  • Does not include users who have only topped up their My Funds accounts or earned My Rewards; those are counted when the funds or rewards are redeemed.
  • Does not include any Community Impact Portal donations.

Monthly: The Monthly graph shows the monthly user donation amount year on year with each color bar representing a different year. This monthly view can highlight when users are donating throughout the year.

Cumulative: The Cumulative graph shows the user donation amount summed throughout the year, with December being the total amount or corporate match committed that year. This graph can show the progression towards an annual user donation amount and how users are donating compared to the same time frame in the previous years(s).

These dashboards are interactive!

You can interact with each of the reports in the following ways:

  • Hover - If you hover over any of the data points within the charts, a tooltip will appear showing the exact values for that point.
  • Select/Deselect Legend items - If you click on any of the items in the Legend, that series will be hidden from the graph. If you click it again, it will reappear. A common use for this function might be to compare only specific years on the charts, or to exclude external donations from the Donations by Method.
  • Zoom – You can also zoom into specific areas on the chart by clicking and dragging a square within the chart area. You can click Reset Zoom to see the chart in its original format.
