Missions are made up of challenges that engage participants through meaningful actions. Creating new challenges ensures that content is kept up-to-date and relevant.

Permissions

Users with the missions manager role are able to create new challenges.

Creating challenges

After navigating to the manage side of your goodness program site, choose Missions from the navigation. From here you can create, edit and manage your missions, which are collections of activities relating to a common goal. Challenges, a specific part of the overall missions feature, are broad themes—like Sustainability or Diversity and Inclusion—that are important to your organization. The missions themselves are actually sub-categories, since they are what users will see when interacting with the software. So, each challenge could include several different missions.

Start by selecting Manage Challenges, which will allow you to view, edit and create a new challenges.

Next, choose Create Challenge to be taken to the Challenge Creation page.

1. Details

The first section is called Details. This is where you can include your Challenge Title, a label in the form of a short summary, and a description that explains why this challenge is important and how it aligns with your organization's goals. When you come to the end of any section in the creation form, select the Next button or simply select the next tab to proceed. Both options bring you to the next page of the form.

2. Tags

Adding a tag to this challenge will mean it can only be seen by people who have that tag in their profile. Challenges that are not tagged can be seen by everyone.

3. Design

In the Design section, you can upload an image for this challenge that will give people a general idea of what the challenge is about at a glance. The image will appear as a banner on your challenge page.

4. Missions

In the Missions section, you can see all the missions you’ve previously added, with the option to add more from the list. You can choose as many as you want to add to the challenge, or choose them all by selecting the Add All button.

5. Media

In the Media section, you can include supporting videos for the challenge. After ensuring the content is okay, enter the URL from either YouTube or Vimeo.

Once you've reviewed all the information, select Save to save this challenge.

Once you publish your challenge, your people will have access to the challenge and all the missions and activities you added to it. You’ll want to let them know about any new additions and changes to your missions program, so remember to keep them up to date with email posts.
