Adding causes and opportunities to a group

If you have an integration with Benevity Spark, you can share causes, volunteering, and giving opportunities with a group. All volunteer and giving opportunities are created in your company’s Spark Program before they are searchable in Affinity Groups. Similarly, only causes that are supported by your Spark program are returned in search results when adding a cause to a group.

Members can find causes and opportunities on the Get Involved tab of a group.

Group leaders can promote causes, volunteering, and giving opportunities to their members.

Adding causes and opportunities to a group

To add a cause or opportunity to a group:

  1. Go to Group Leader Dashboard > Groups.
  2. Open the group and select the Get Involved tab.
  3. Select Add for the section you wish to add to the group.
  4. In the search box, enter the name, or a phrase related to what you are looking for. Alternatively, if you’d like to browse all the available options, type an asterisk (*), and select search.

Syncing cause and opportunity details 

To sync details with Spark:

  1. Go to Group Leader Dashboard > Groups.
  2. Open the group and select the Get Involved tab.
  3. Select Manage > Sync.

Affinity Groups automatically syncs all opportunities every 24 hours. The manual Sync option is a great way to have changes made in your company’s Spark program immediately recognized in Affinity Groups.

Deleting opportunities

To delete a cause or opportunity from a group:

  1. Go to Group Leader Dashboard > Groups.
  2. Open the group and select the Get Involved tab.
  3. Select Manage > Delete.

This does not remove the opportunity from other initiatives your company has planned or supports. This action simply removes it from the group.
