Manually reviewing match requests

When someone donates outside of your program site, they can fill out the Request a Match form to request company matching for the donation.

Depending on your program settings, once the request is submitted, it's either automatically approved or sent to you for review.

To approve or decline match requests, your Spark role must be External Match Manager.

How to review a match request

  1. Sign in to your program and select Manage at the top-right corner.

  2. Open the requests page by selecting Match Requests in the menu bar, or finding the requests for review on your Admin Dashboard, under Action Items.

  3. On the left side of the Match Requests page, you can use the filtering options to view by First NameLast NameEmployee IDEmail AddressRequest Status—or any other custom field you have defined.
  4. Find the request you want to review and select View Details.

  5. The Review Match Request window will open, showing the details the user filled out on the Request a Match form. Review the submission details and select Approve or Decline.

  6. You can write an optional message to go with your decision. When you’re ready, select Confirm and Notify User. Your message and decision will now be emailed to the user.

How to do a bulk review on multiple match requests

  1. Sign in to your program and select Manage at the top-right corner.
  2. Open the requests page by selecting Match Requests in the menu bar, or finding the requests for review on your Admin Dashboard, under Action Items.
  3. Select the checkbox for each request you want to bulk review.

  4. Open the Choose an Action dropdown and select Approve External Matching Request or Decline External Matching Request.

  5. Select Apply.
  6. All the requests you selected are now approved or declined. An email with your decision will now be sent to the user.
